Sundar Ramasamy (Vijay) is an USA-based highly strong NRI businessman perceived for his ruthless quality. He arrives in Chennai to name his choice in the Tamil Nadu Assembly polls. However, he gets out to his shock that someone else had now voted in his name and for is unable to pick his vote. Sundar addresses the Tamil Nadu Election Commission, asking a stay on the election issue for his constituency, canceling the majority of the fraud suffragist and allowing him to legitimately cast his vote, to which they agree. Sundar further hoists awareness among the public concerning cheating voting, and many of the people realize that they also could not vote in the poll due to the fraud voting. Meanwhile, Sundar rekindles his love with his estranged sister-in-law’s (Papri Ghosh) sister Nila (Keerthy Suresh), whom he had last met five years ago.
However, Sundar’s actions bring him into battle with two powerful and corrupt bureaucrats, M. Masilamani (Pala. Karuppiah), that is the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, and his relative Malarvannan alias Rendu (Radha Ravi). Though Masilamani’s individual wins in the elections, due to many people assuming that they were not able to vote due to cheating, the election result is canceled, and fresh elections are scheduled to take place inside the next fifteen days. After efforts are made on his life by Malarvannan’s henchmen, Sundar decides to fight the ticket against Masilamani as an Independent and leaves from his company to avoid any conflict-of-interest.
In the end, Sundar and his fans win the election, while Komalavalli and Malarvannan are held for their roles in the repose of Masilamani as well as the many men who tried to prove corruption allegations against Masilamani. However, Sundar decides against becoming the Chief Minister and preferably chooses an honest collector as the next Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. He says that will remain as an opposition party to the alliance and he gives the success of his campaign to all the youngsters of Tamil Nadu.
